WEP is the older security standard for Wi-Fi. At a 2005 Information Systems Security Association meeting,, presenters from the FBI demonstrated breaking a WEP network in three minutes, using the latest attack tools, all available on the Internet. Where possible WEP should be replaced by the newer, stronger WPA (see below).
