SSH Password Guessing: Linux Compromise and Forensics

This document describes the compromise of a Debian Linux server on an internal network. We look at how the incident first came to light, the response procedures and an analysis of the actions of the attacker. This leads us to some recommendations on how to secure systems against this kind of exploitation in future.
